August Creative partnered with BDS Planning & Urban Design and FORWARD Platform to deliver COVID relief funding to Homeless Service Workers throughout Washington state with the Washington State Department of Commerce. This limited program delivered up to $4,000 in two stipend payments to eligible homeless service workers throughout Washington. These stipends recognized that many of frontline workers are low-income themselves and the field is traditionally underpaid. We were excited to partner on a project that brought much-needed relief to people doing such important work in communities around Washington.

The Details:

Statewide campaign/A campaign for workers

‍We created the program banding and website to raise awareness of the program and guide homeless service workers through the application process. Original illustrations gave the program a unique look and feel - creating assets of warm and helpful people to capture the care and compassion of this workforce.Β

Our social media toolkits were available in multiple languages and provided materials for workers and their agencies to share information about the program with their colleagues and build a word-of-mouth campaign. Service provider agencies were able to use our posters and assets to share the program with their employees.Β

We created an online ad to drive awareness and applications. The targeted ad served as a final push for applications across the state.

The program had several application phases and August Creative adapted materials and created new campaign assets for each phase including web updates, social media toolkit materials, and online ads. We provided content and outreach strategy, helping to shape each phase of the campaign.Β

‍Financial help for the helpers

‍The program distributed grants to over 13,000 homeless service workers around the state. These funds were used by providers for basic needs including groceries, and rent. We’re proud that service providers were able to receive additional one-time support that allowed them to continue doing this work.
