Rebranding the Governor's Office of Financial Management
In late spring of 2024, August Creative partnered with the Communications team at the Washington State's Office of Financial Management on the concept and design of a new agency-wide logo and brand suite. OFM wanted to tell the story of our state and their work for all Washingtonians in an image that was friendly and distinct.

Garden-Raised Bounty (GRuB) has two urban farms in Thurston County and works with marginalized young people, low-income families, students, seniors experiencing hunger, tribal communities, and veterans in relationship-based programming around growing and cooking food. When we started working with GRuB we were excited to partner with an organization so deeply committed to the community and relationships. Those values came through in our design process, creating a site that shows the care of their programs.

Seven Directions at the University of Washington is the first national public health institute in the United States to focus solely on improving Indigenous health and wellness. In this ongoing effort, we partner with the Institute's staff to maintain an information hub filled filled with reports, resources, community groups, and a home for their annual forum, Our Nations, Our Journeys.

Every 10 years, the Washington State Redistricting Commission is established to redraw the lines of the legislative and congressional voting districts in our state. As the communications partner for the 2021 Redistricting Commission, August Creative designed a full brand suite including logos and use guide, built a robust public facing website with inclusive content strategy, the online public comment database, social media assets, styled legislative reports, and designed posters for the final congressional and legislative maps. We are proud to have partnered with Commission staff and leadership on an outreach campaign that resulted in historic and unprecedented participation in the 2021 redistricting process.
Project DetailsWashington Homeless Workers Stipend
August Creative partnered with BDS Planning & Urban Design and FORWARD Platform to deliver COVID relief funding to Homeless Service Workers throughout Washington state with the Washington State Department of Commerce. This limited program delivered up to $4,000 in two stipend payments to eligible homeless service workers throughout Washington. These stipends recognized that many of frontline workers are low-income themselves and the field is traditionally underpaid. We were excited to partner on a project that brought much-needed relief to people doing such important work in communities around Washington.

2040 and Beyond is a transportation policy plan for all of Washington State that provides the overarching framework for the Department of Transportation and transportation departments statewide. The plan is based on the six statewide goals and recommendations established by the Washington State Legislature: economic vitality, mobility, preservation, environment and health, safety, and stewardship. August Creative partnered with SCJ Alliance to bring the 2040 Transportation Policy plan to life in an interactive website for policy makers and communities.

As a team of gardeners and outdoor enthusiasts, working with the Noxious Weed Control Board allowed us to help raise awareness and protect the natural plants and environments that make Washington so beautiful. Our website redesign brought together information about the board, their work, and education and awareness tools for the public.

ActCoastal is a campaign to protect California’s coast by bringing transparency and accountability to the actions of the California Coastal Commission. ActCoastal works to ensure that California’s coastal environment remains protected, healthy and accessible by protecting coastal conservation, environmental justice and public access to CA’s beaches. As lovers of the natural world with a passion for protecting these spaces and ensuring values of environmental justice, this was a great opportunity for us to design a website that brought our values forward.

Rites of Green documents the rich and wide-ranging cultures, traditions, arts, and music in Washington state. The Center for Washington Cultural Traditions (CWCT) at Humanities Washington wanted to curate a space where artists throughout WA can exhibit their work. As long-time art advocates who prioritize projects with traditionally overlooked communities, we were drawn to this project of designing a space to capture artist stories.
